The Grappelli Album, a live release from the Tim Kliphuis Trio, takes Tim back to his gypsy jazz roots and to the inspirational meeting he had with French jazz violin maestro, Stéphane Grappelli in 1995. Recorded live in Scotland, this Trio album features repertoire from the Parisian years with Django (1934-1938) and five beautiful Grappelli compositions from the seventies and eighties, most of which have never been covered in concert or on CD before. Tim, Nigel and Roy perform this collection of gems in the spirit of Grappelli, with a joyful, personal approach that goes beyond styles or genres.
